GoldMine 7.0 – Search Center Quick Actions

One enhancement in GoldMine 7.0 is the ‘Quick Action’ buttons in the Contact Search Center (Where you go to find a contact records). With these buttons, you can schedule, perform a mail or email merge, or add a contact(s) to a group or distribution list. Simply select the contact to perform the action for, or use Control-Click on several contacts to perform these actions.

Goldmine: How to Enter a Forcasted Sale
Forcasted sales are a great way to make, manage and analyize projected sales.
You can enter forcasts for those sales that are appropriate for forcasting by following these steps:
1) Locate the account to which you intend to sell your product.
You can go directly into the Schedule a Forcast Sale dialog box without locating the account first, but I prefer this more consistent approach.
2) From the Goldmine Menu cick the Sale button.
GoldMine brings you to the Schedule a Forcasted Sale dialog box, as shown in the screen shots below.
3) Fill in the Contact field.
This field defaults to the primary contact for the account. If you are not positioned on the right account, you can do so by clicking the magnifying glass to the right of the contact field, or searching for the contact before starting the process.
4) In the Product field, enter or select the product line you intend to sell to this account.
5) Enter the dollar amount this is forcasted to sell at.
6) From the select users drop down, you can select individual users or groups. This should default to your user name and in most cases this is correct. If you have a Sales Assistant that runs quotes, then they would change this to the Sales person or Marketer/DBD.
7) The Code selection allows you to select specific codes that can help to organize the sale. This is sometimes usedto specify a product line, or an additional person who proccessed the sales initially etc…

GM+View LinkedIn and Mapquest Update
There are a number of really cool things that can be integrated into the Goldmine in the way of GM+Views.
In the screenshots below we have integrated to popular tools that can help to research your contacts.
LinkedIn and Mapquest
You can get to the GM+Views by navigating to the tabs information area and finding the tab titled GM+View. You can then right click on the area to select the view you would like to see. Now this is assuming that your Goldmine Administrator has programmed the view to work with LinkedIn and Mapquest.

My Goldmine Interface – 7.0
The My Goldmine Dashboard is a great place to summerize your data and events.
From your Forcasted Sales, to your to-do list to the most recent 10 contacts you have been working on.
You can Access the “My Goldmine” interface by selecting View on the toolbar and then selecting “My Goldmine” or if you are a purist in the sence of typeing you can use the combination keys of alt+V and Alt+M
View the Screen shot below, keeping in mind you can customize your look and items that appear.
